Dickman's Cottage is located 5 minutes walk from the centre of the pleasant village of Lambley which is situated some 6 miles North East of Nottingham, with a traditional church and pubs. There are 2 pubs close at hand (a few minutes' walk) "The Robin" and "The Woodlark" and a restaurant in the former Nags Head Pub now called the “Lambley”. There is a small shop attached to the Petrol Station which is open weekdays 7am- 6pm and Saturdays 7am – 1pm where they sell a useful range of grocery items.
Buses into Nottingham go from the village a few hundred yards away. Nottingham itself provides excellent shopping as well as a castle and museum.
There are many stately homes within easy reach, including Chatsworth, Kedlestone Hall and Calke Abbey. Why not try our Pride and Prejudice Week where you can visit a number of nearby locations used in both the film and the BBC version. For family entertainment there are activity centres close at hand including White Post Farm. Lambley makes an ideal base for seeing the region generally and places such as the historic city and cathedral of Lincoln and the town and minster at Southwell.
